Minerals never occur in pure form but are always bound in salts. The right ratio of these different compounds is particularly important for the bioavailability of minerals, that is, how well the body can take them up. That is why LR relies on a blend of citrates, carbonates and gluconates.
FAQ
FAQ
How does over-acidification of the body come about?
There are several factors behind over-acidification of the body. Diet comes first, because the list of foods whose excessive consumption can have a negative effect on our acid-base balance is long: meat, carbonated mineral water, coffee, fat, white flour, sweets etc. can contribute to over-acidification of the body when consumed in excess, just as alcohol or medicines can. The negative effect of these foods is intensified if comparatively little alkali-forming fruit and vegetables are eaten in relation to them. Further factors such as little exercise and a lot of stress put an additional strain on the metabolism.
How do minerals and trace elements balance out over-acidification of the body?
Minerals with an alkaline effect are also referred to as deacidifying minerals. They must be present in every cell, as they are needed to neutralise acids. In the case of over-acidification, e.g. due to an unbalanced diet, minerals are withdrawn from the organism.
