Using Mega Patches correctly: three steps, wearing time, combinations

Sticking on a Mega Patch takes a minute. Even so, it is worth knowing the few rules the manufacturer gives for it: the spot, the duration, combining patches and dealing with a skin reaction. This text summarises them and, at the end, names the products that LR recommends with each patch.
The three steps
- Clean and dry. Clean a spot on the inside of the forearm and dry it thoroughly. The active ingredient matrix does not stick to cream, oil or damp skin.
- Stick on. Remove the patch from the carrier sheet and place it on the skin, adhesive side down.
- Gently massage in. Press it on briefly and massage it in lightly so that the patch lies flat everywhere. The manufacturer says this is “for optimal absorption of the active ingredients”.
After that, the patch stays where it is. According to the manufacturer, the care ingredients are released at a constant rate throughout the day.
Where, how long, how often

Why only the forearm? The documents do not give an explicit reason. The obvious explanation is that the skin there is thin and has little hair, the patch holds well, does not get in the way and is invisible under a sleeve. Stick to this instruction: it names the only place where the manufacturer intends the patch to be used.
Combining several patches
According to the manufacturer, the variants can be “combined with one another according to individual needs and worn at the same time”. In practice, this means one patch on the left forearm and one on the right, or two side by side, each on a clean spot. The documents do not specify an order or an upper limit. If you want to take it step by step, start with one patch a day and see how your skin reacts before adding a second.
If the skin reacts
Every page of the LR documents carries the same sentence: “In the event of very rare intolerances such as skin redness or itching, please simply remove the patch.” That is the whole instruction, and it is enough: peel it off, clean the spot with water, no new patch that day. If the redness persists, it should be seen by a doctor, like any other skin reaction.
Two further notes that follow from the ingredients: Longevity contains vitamin A, and the manufacturer notes that the recommended daily requirement must be taken into account before use. And anyone known to react sensitively to one of the plant substances, such as turmeric or frankincense, should choose a variant without it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I shower or swim with the patch on?
The documents say nothing about this. The backing film seals the patch on the outside, but whether it withstands water over longer periods is not described. To be on the safe side, stick the patch onto dry skin after showering.
Can I take the patch off earlier?
The manufacturer gives twelve hours as the minimum because the care ingredients are released slowly. Taking it off earlier does no harm; it just shortens the application.
What do I do with a used patch?
It goes in the general waste. It is a cosmetic product on film, not packaging for recycling.
Do I have to use the same patch every day?
No. A pouch lasts 30 days at one patch a day, but you can switch between the variants or combine them as needed. What each one contains is set out in the overview of the four patches.
